Dr Stephanie Oltmann

Dr Stephanie grew up in northern Germany and completed her medical studies at the renowned Technical University of Aachen.

During medical school, she developed a keen interest in the complexity and interconnectivity of body systems and holistic approaches to healing and well-being.

She also found ample opportunities to experience other cultures and languages, spending a year as an Erasmus scholar in Sweden as well as time in northern Norway and at Paris’ oldest hospital, the Hotel Dieu.

After completing medical school, Dr. Stephanie was offered a training position at the Department of Neurology at her university. However, she soon realized that she preferred a more hands-on approach over the academic medicine at the university.

Seeking to combine new experiences in medicine with her love for travel, she moved to Australia to work as a Senior House Officer in various emergency departments around Sydney.

A Trip-around-the-World turned out to be serendipitous as she met her future husband here in San Francisco.

Before finally relocating there in 2011, she completed a Family Medicine Residency at Northwell Health System (formerly known as North Shore LIJ) in New York where she also served as Chief Resident.

Dr Stephanie worked as a primary care physician at Dignity Health for 6 years followed by 2 years at One Medical. During this time, she developed a keen interest in integrative and functional medicine. She learned to look for root causes rather than just treating symptoms and came to appreciate the importance of preventing chronic disease by optimizing health.

Dr Stephanie completed training in Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy with Dr Neal Rouzier and continues her education with the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine.

Dr Stephanie enjoys life in the Bay Area with her husband and young daughter; she likes to travel, ski in the winter, read, bake, and host friends at home.

To stay well, she works out with a trainer, and practices meditation and intermittent fasting. She is also a big believer in the Wim Hof Method and takes ice cold showers.
